This is WEEK 50… which means I have TWO WEEKS left until I’ve been doing boot camp for ONE YEAR!! I know after all the times I’ve said this I sound like a broken record but I am still surprised that I’ve done everything I have in the last 12 months. I won’t get into all of that today as I’m going to do a post that details all of the changes I’ve gone through when I publish the article for Assessments #13 which is my ONE YEAR post… *squeaaaaal*
As for Assessments #12 – those took place last Monday (the 1st) and I DID reach my goal of 8 minutes, 45 seconds for my mile which I am still THRILLED about and hoping to cut a few more seconds off before May 1 (my one year fitness anniversary). I did 77 pushups in 2 minutes and 67 situps in 2 minutes. Since I hit 80 pushups last time (Assessments #11) I know that I can do that — so that goal is met. I HAVE to get 80 pushups in 2 minutes by May 1 in order to have met all of the goals I set for myself. I’m soooo close and it’s exciting :)
My measurements and weight are stable and although I had set a goal of 135, I’ve figured out that I’m currently at my ideal weight. I’m eating a healthy diet — as always, I am not on an actual “diet” but am just maintaining the changes I’ve made to my eating habits. I’m active regularly — daily runs, boot camp four days a week and races at least once a month and I have pretty much weighed in between 143 and 145 consistently for several months. At this point I don’t have any weight or measurement-related goals. All of my goals going forward will be focused on strength and speed.
And of course… RACE PERFORMANCE!!! Saturday I finished my third race, The Color Run, with two other trainers from Mega WorX Training where I work: Matthew, who is the owner and my personal trainer for the last year, as well as Alyssa, the assistant trainer for our morning boot camp class. We had a BLAST. Even though I had initially registered under the Mega WorX team, I actually registered for the 9am run because the 10am was sold out so I planned on running with some local bloggers, Meghan Cooper and Lindsay Chung, but I was able to change my time spot at the last minute and because of traffic I wasn’t even able to make it for the 9am wave anyway so it worked out perfectly. Except I hate traffic so that didn’t thrill me. Instead it made me look like this:
But before that, I did a little vlog which I uploaded to share with you guys prior to the race just to talk a little about … well, nothing lol … but also about the other races I’ve done, how happy I am that my hubby comes home this week, the progress I’m making toward becoming a Certified Fitness Trainer, and Georgia drivers LOL And of course, plenty of the senseless rambling that I’m notorious for.
My collage of Color Run fabulousness!
Alyssa and I before the race:
The cutest little Color Run-ning baby EVAAAAAA.
Some random Color Runners rocking out during the after party:
Gettin’ it in with the Harlem Shake!! (or at least they were)
Yours truly :)
Some of the after party madness:
Rocking out with the crowd and trying to keep color powder out of my mouth! LOL
Matthew and Alyssa:
So, how do I look in orange? ;)
This little girl was SUPER adorable :)
Time for a COLOR THROW!!!
We were much more colorful after the after party than after the race haha
My thoughts about the race as I walked back to the truck:
Me… I think I look fabulous :) LOL
Check me out haha There is color EVERYWHERE!
My STOMACH even got dyed — through TWO shirts!
BOOM! The Color Run. ;)
