Barry isn’t much of a mushy, gushy guy. Even so, he always amazes me how sweet and very tender he is… He’s a serious man — when it comes to raising his children, he’s soft but firm. He doesn’t request; he commands that things get done. He doesn’t inquire; he demands truth and entirety in information. He is the type of man that WILL be respected. Period. But at the same time, he’s understanding and he’s reasonable. But, man-oh-man when it comes to the baby… all that hard stuff goes straight out the window. Zoe has that Daddy wrapped right around her little finger and when she tells him what she wants, he knows he’s got to make it happen. He has been that way with each of the kids and now that Zoe is our last little Robertson, I think I appreciate watching it all the more. My husband is the perfect mix of lion and teddy bear.
I love him for that.
What’s This Series About Anyway??
I believe that strong marriages rely on three key elements:
- Love – unconditional
- Communication – uninterrupted
- Affirmation – uninhibited
Everything else stems from how healthy the couple is in those three areas. Because of this, I’ve started communicating my love for my husband through weekly affirmations… those simple statements of truth that let him know I see all the ways he expresses his love for me. I’ve written a lot about what kind of wife I am and how I love and support my husband. This is the other side of that :)
