It’s been a week already?! Geez… this is my weekly What I’m Loving article regarding one product that made a difference in my world over the last seven days. Posts in this weekly series are UNsponsored and completely at my own discretion. This week, I’m loving Virtual Private Server hosting.
As most of you already know, I own eDesign-Pro Company, which provides a plethora of online services such as web and graphic design, hosting, consulting, content/database management, etc. About a month ago, I started receiving trouble tickets from several of my hosting clients reporting slow load times, especially on WordPress-powered websites and blogs and oddly enough, particularly in the administration dashboard.
When I got the first report, I began contemplating upgrading to a dedicated server because if one client is unhappy, I can’t boast 100% customer satisfaction which is important to me. When I got the second… third… fourth report, the decision was made: a change was immenent. When I started researching my options, I realized that dedicated may not be totally necessary so I flipped the switch on the 16th and began migrating cPanels over to the new Virtual Private Server.
Basically VPS offers the same features as a fully dedicated server without having to actually purchase a dedicated server — I get root access, better performance and speed, and more control at a fraction of the cost… which means my clients are happy with the service as well as the price tag! I’ve noticed a drastic improvement in load times across my own websites and have gotten wonderful feedback so far from everyone else.
If you have a growing website and feel that you need more resources than a shared hosting plan offers but can’t spring for the money a dedicated server requires, I highly recommend checking into VPS hosting… or inquire about securing hosting with my company and get all the perks at not much more than you’re paying right now :)
