For those who missed it yesterday when I posted it to Facebook, I went to take the kids shopping for winter clothes and before we could get into the shopping center parking lot, my Yukon XL died right in front of Home Depot. Whaaaaaat??

We coasted into a parking spot the best I could which wasn’t all that great. The huge truck was all gallywomped and took up two and a half parking spaces — you should have seen the looks we got. I just kept trying to crank the truck and then I’d look back at them and throw my hands up like, “WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?!!?!?!”

So anyway, long story short, I left the truck there and had it towed to the GMC dealership today. Haven’t heard anything back about it yet — the service manager told me it’d probably be tomorrow before they get to it, which is totally cool. I don’t have much of a life when Barry’s offshore so it’s no biggie.

What IS a biggie is what I found stuffed in my driver’s door handle when I got there to open the Yukon for the towing service to take my baby to the shop: a brown napkin with a note scribbled on it in all capital letters:

PARK MORE LIKE AN @$$HOLE NEXT TIME, PRICK!

Really, people? Have you got nothing better to do with your day than make mine worse and more stressful than it already is?! I suppose next time I WILL park more like an “@$$hole” and leave the freaking boat of a vehicle in the middle of the isle where it died. What I wouldn’t give to have been pulling up when they were leaving my nice little note. ;) Now, THAT woulda been blogworthy.

It’s so sad that people will do things like this. It was a highly stressful situation for me already… all five of the kids stuck in a dead truck in the dark while it was getting chilly outside… waiting on my parents to come take us in TWO trips back home because my mom drives a small Kia car. Barry of course is offshore so the whole time I’m thinking, “WHAT am I going to do?! I don’t know how to do all this stuff. I’ve never had to have a vehicle towed!” I was already anxious about how much it’s going to cost to get it repaired, whether I’m going to still be able to get the kids’ winter clothes this week, etc. Then I get the note. Perfect timing…

People don’t stop to think about who is coming back to the notes they leave. They don’t stop to think about how much worse their words make an already difficult situation. :( I have to feel sorry for people with no compassion who don’t have it in them to try to understand what someone else may be going through.

And if you think MY note sucked, look at what this lady came back to her car to find: To the Author of The Anonymous Note Left On My Car Window …
