I have been meaning to post an update on Talia, but life has become a whirlwind and I’m just now catching my breath as I take a break between one client project and the next :) Before we moved to Atlanta, we started seeing a new doctor to try to figure out why Talia has been having headaches for the last couple of years. We went through all of this with her doctor in Louisiana but got nowhere so we were starting from scratch again. After doing some cognitive tests, doing blood work, and going through a process of elimination, her doctor ordered an MRI of her head.
Unfortunately, even after all of that, we are still clueless as to what is causing her headaches. I feel so bad for her because I know what it’s like. I’m praying that she doesn’t have Fibromyalgia like me, but the symptoms she has been having for the last year or two mirror what I experienced at her age. It’s killing me to think that she … ugh. I can’t even type it. I just don’t want to think about that. I’m hoping that her headaches stop but at this point we don’t have any answers to why she’s having them. Her vision is perfect so they aren’t due to straining on her eyes.
Her doctor prescribed Elavil which is essentially an anti-depressant but is also used to treat migraines & tension headaches which was the only option we had after all the tests were inconclusive. She takes 5MG each night before bed and her headaches have not been nearly as frequent as they were before but she does still have some bad ones :( I will keep you all updated as we find out more over time but for now, there isn’t really any “news” to speak of… I appreciate all your prayers and comments on Facebook/Twitter as we were going to the various appointments this summer.
