Today started out a little sucky. I felt totally taken for granted and thought my kids had forgotten about “my” day entirely. Out of six kids, Tiara (who isn’t even my daughter) wrote me Happy Mother’s Day on Facebook and Tre told me after the cashier at Family Dollar said it first. The rest of them? Nada.
I got up to a dirty house (after fully expecting them to, like usual, have cleaned their chores up before I got out of the bed) and cleaned it up myself as they sat watching television. They all came running up to me all excited and I thought a hearty, “Happy Mother’s Dayyyyy!!!” was definitely coming. Instead, I got, “Can we get in the pool?”
Then, after lunch, Briyana, Avalyn, and Tiara brought me three great cards they made themselves. They were so sweet… Briyana’s made me cry!! She used a toe separator to make a “crown” over my “M” and said, “Because you’re our crown and glory!” LOL :) So creative!

This evening, I decided to take a shower and the girls told me they were going to cook dinner which I will admit made me a little uncomfortable. They take turns cooking with me almost every day, but cooking an entire meal by themselves? This would be a first! LOL Even so, I went ahead and let them.
I got out of the shower to find a great meal prepared for me — Manwich, corn on the cob, deviled eggs, baked potatoes, and rice with butter. It was delicious ;) They even thought to make a pitcher of water so that no one had to get up to refill their cups.

I love my children!
I am sorry that I doubted their appreciation of all that I do during the other 364 days a year!
