Kindergarten Graduation: Ava is Officially a 1st Grader!!

This week has been longggggg. Monday was the Award Ceremony for Briyana, Tiara, and Tre. Yesterday was Talia’s Awards Day, and today was Avalyn’s Kindergarten graduation and awards day!

Last night at about 8:30 we realized she didn’t have a nice dress to wear and without that, she’d have to wear her uniform which was absolutely the end of the world as far as she was concerned. So, I said a quick prayer that we’d be able to find SOMETHING at the Family Dollar 4 blocks from our house before it closed because I didn’t want to have go get everyone dressed to go to Walmart. God is GOOD because we found an ADORABLE dress in her size and as an added bonus, it was only 8 bucks, which struck my frugal bone! ;) Corny, I know…

Since I flat ironed Talia’s hair yesterday morning, of course Avalyn wanted hers straight as well. I washed and conditioned it last night and she woke me up BRIGHT and early this morning to straighten it with the flat iron. She was a gorgeous little graduate :)

Without rambling on too long about how fast she’s growing up, how proud I am of my beautiful AvaBaby for finishing her first year of school with an academic BANG, or how depressing it is that she’s now officially a first grader, I will just skip straight to the awards she received:

• Kindergarten Diploma
• President’s Silver Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence
• All A&B Honor Roll
• “Easy Going” award – special recognition for being highly adaptive and receptive. :)

To cap off this horribly busy-for-me week, tomorrow is field day… I’ll be at the school munching on nachos and pickles, sucking down bubble gum snowballs before the school year draws to an end ;)
