My friend from high school, Mary, (you know – the one I went to my junior PROM with? lol) put together a really nice banquet for the kids, coaches, and parents that participated in the North Forrest Youth Football Association this year. It turned out great! We spent like four hours on the music to accompany the season’s highlight DVD only for her husband (thanks, Eric… lol) to call as soon as she got home and say BOOM BOOM POW IS NOT GOING ON THIS DISK… haha So I had to change it. Again… like 2 days before the banquet. Then she changed it. Again… the day before the banquet LOL Needless to say, a lot of thought and care went into preparations for it and it was a lot of fun for the kids. I’m really looking forward to being a more integral part of the association next year since we’ll be here all season.

The DVD was played at the banquet and and everyone seemed to get teary eyed. All the kids were KRUNK, yelling, “We ain’t neva scared, we ain’t neva scared…” to Bone Crusher and jumping around chiming in to, “All I do is win, win, win no matter WHAT!” :) The kids all got a plaque and a team jacket. The coaches got a jacket and a customized dog tag… the kids who are leaving the youth league this year to go to junior varsity got their plaque and jacket as well as a customized dog tag. Afterward, there was a catered meal in the cafeteria where Barry and I used to eat lunch at the high school but there just wasn’t enough room for everyone and since there were six of us (me and all the kids) I bribed them to leave by promising McDonald’s!

I took them all to McDonald’s to get Happy Meals. We had a great time together :) Ava had been sick all weekend so she didn’t eat hers but I took her back yesterday for lunch to make it up to her since she was feeling better.  We snapped a few photos of each other, shared some hot apple pies, and they played on the playground even though it was honestly way too cold for me to have let them. Oops :)
