I haven’t blogged in exactly two weeks.
No, the world is not coming to an end. I hope.
School ended for the summer term about three weeks ago. I’d be lying if I was unwilling to admit just how much of a challenge it was to complete Ministry Communication Theory and Old Testament Studies over the course of the summer with an average of 8-10 kids in my house daily — we are the neighborhood hangout and there are now 14 girls and three boys on our street, including our own. With my husband working overnight and sleeping all day leaving me to fend for myself in this jungle of a house with the combination of stresses from parenting, client work, and school it is actually amazing that I am not certifiably insane by now. But I’m not. Or am I? …
I did it! I finished the summer term with a 3.66 GPA!!! I made an A in Ministry Communication and a B+ in Old Testament Studies. WHOO HOO! :)
Once school ended, we started gearing up for the following week which would be the last time we visit my mom until the holidays but then something else came up and we ended up having to leave the kids with my mom while we headed to Fort Walton Beach for two days for a little side-travel within the mini-vacation we were already in. Sorry, I can’t tell you what we went for. Those who need to know already know. My husband asked me to refrain from oversharing on my blog. It’s going to be tough and more than likely I’ll totally fail at it, but in the case of this particular trip, I figure I can start out strong in my attempt LOL!
I was supposed to be meeting Shynea (PennyPinchingDiva.com) and Lynsey (ThePartyPlanCoach.com) while I was there, but ended up not being able to meet either of them :( BUMMER! Of course, I had just spent the weekend with Lynsey the month before in New Orleans, but I was SO disappointed about not being able to have lunch with Shynea. All in all, I still had a nice trip and got to get some really great photos. The downside to this little side-trip was that I ended up not being able to work as much as I had hoped so by the time we got back home the following Tuesday, I was SO backlogged in my design work it was disgusting! So, for the last two weeks I have literally been up to my ears catching up projects for clients and in the midst of it all, the kids and I all started back to school last week and I already managed to get behind in schoolwork too. Lovely.
Anyway, since I haven’t done a Wordless Wednesday since two weeks ago, I am going to cap this little update off with a ton of photos I took in Fort Walton Beach! I am SO sorry I’ve been missing lately and I promise, within the next few days I will be caught up again and totally up on my blog/social media game! When I was pregnant with my first child I thought, “now where would be a neat place to have a baby?” and I answered myself…”Fort Walton Beach/Destin”…so I moved there and had Kelly. So I’ve lived there many, many summers. I can’t believe you haven’t been there to. But I know you were there at least once cause I took you and Kelly and Nana there once on vacation and ya’ll ran up and down the hotel hallways knocking on people’s doors and embarassing the stew out of me! And I got some really good photos on the beach who somebody got a hold of and they’ve disappeared:) We just simply must go back every year with all the kids. It’s a must! The photos brought back so many memories, they are so gorgeous and you looked so relaxed and happy. You simply MUST do it again soon!
Glad you enjoyed the beach, one of my most favorite places to be. Great photos too!
