There is nothing I can think of at the moment worse than having to eat this stuff for one more meal. Maybe I’m exaggerating. Maybe not. I’ve never been so bored with a diet in my life! I’m officially giving up. Okay, so let’s be honest… I gave up over a day ago LOL As a matter of fact, Wednesday evening I celebrated giving up by having a pork chop. Here’s how my chat with Lynsey went this time (only my portion; I don’t publish other people’s ends of conversations I have online):

[8/4/2010 10:22:06 PM] Kat Robertson: I went ALL day only eating that freaking potato
[8/4/2010 10:22:20 PM] Kat Robertson: At dinner, I cooked pork chops, corn, grits, and cornbread
[8/4/2010 10:22:25 PM] Kat Robertson: and I partook lol
[8/4/2010 10:22:40 PM] Kat Robertson: In my defense, however…
[8/4/2010 10:22:45 PM] Kat Robertson: I didn’t make any for myself
[8/4/2010 10:22:52 PM] Kat Robertson: But Tre only wanted his grits
[8/4/2010 10:22:59 PM] Kat Robertson: So I couldn’t just let the rest go to waste hehe

[8/4/2010 10:24:55 PM] Kat Robertson: We need to come up with our OWN diet plan
[8/4/2010 10:25:00 PM] Kat Robertson: Something we can actually stick to.
[8/4/2010 10:25:11 PM] Kat Robertson: There’s really no sense in committing to plans we know we can’t do long term.
[8/4/2010 10:25:23 PM] Kat Robertson: Isn’t that what it’s really about? Lifestyle changes?
[8/4/2010 10:26:49 PM] Kat Robertson: How about we try this out
[8/4/2010 10:27:14 PM] Kat Robertson: Every day, we’ll talk about what we’ve eaten, or what we’re planning on eating… what we’ve done or plan to do to exercise.
[8/4/2010 10:27:21 PM] Kat Robertson: And we will be HONEST lol
[8/4/2010 10:28:10 PM] Kat Robertson: That way, we’re less likely to eat anything horrible for us
[8/4/2010 10:28:19 PM] Kat Robertson: because then we have to share that news with each other
[8/4/2010 10:28:50 PM] Kat Robertson: And we’ll make a conscious effort to eat things that are healthy (or at least healthier) for us.
[8/4/2010 10:28:57 PM] Kat Robertson: More baked or grilled than fried.
[8/4/2010 10:29:00 PM] Kat Robertson: Stuff like that
[8/4/2010 10:29:15 PM] Kat Robertson: I think that will work a WHOLE lot better than this
[8/4/2010 10:29:35 PM] Kat Robertson: I mean, we made it through a few days of this mess with each other’s support

[8/4/2010 10:53:43 PM] Kat Robertson: Ugh, you have no idea how wonderful it’s gong to feel to eat an omelet in the morning

Lynsey left her diet plan behind gracefully… she felt bad for quitting and actually wanted to make it the whole seven days, but she started feeling sluggish and it was affecting her work. I thankfully never made it to the sluggish stage… but I did get to the detesting-whoever-came-up-with-it-in-the-first-place stage and personally don’t feel bad at all for quitting. Not at all. At. All. I told her she can “leave” this diet as gracefully as she feels is necessary. I, on the other hand, will be dropping this plan right where it falls, which happened to be all over that pork chop Wednesday night :)

Now, I’m not trying to discourage anyone else from trying it out. If you can stomach cabbage soup for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 7 days straight, you could totally benefit from doing this. I can’t. And I am woman enough to admit defeat LOL! If I have that much will power in my body, for some reason it just decided not to all come together this week… and seriously, when eating a graham cracker with cream cheese on a diet is considered “cheating” something is wrong. I’m just sayin’…
