REVIEW: ProForm Ab Machine from CSN Stores

CSN Stores hosts a network of online retailers that offer products of every imaginable category. You may remember late last year when I was presented with the opportunity to review an item from one of the CSN Stores which ended up being Cookware.com‘s West Bend Electronic Programmable crock pot. I was ecstatic to have the opportunity to work with them again in my Father’s Day Gift Guide, but since my husband rarely cooks, I obviously wouldn’t be reviewing Cookware.com again!

In maintaining the Father’s Day theme, I decided to get my husband some exercise equipment from Fitness Equipment & More. When we consider gift items like this around here, we typically go for something we can both make use of, so I ended up deciding on the ProForm Abs Core Bench. CSN Stores carries a seemingly endless selection of fitness equipment. I got the ProForm Ab Trainer at literally a fourth of the manufacturer’s suggested retail price ($229).

The unit came fully assembled, ready to use straight out of the box. My husband and I will most definitely be getting some sexy abs using this machine. Okay, well I will be … he already has some so his workouts are merely for maintenance purposes only :) Despite the fact that I am 175 pounds on a 5’4″ frame and he is 240 pounds on a 6’2″ frame, the machine fit both of us like a charm. The construction is sturdy and back of the ProForm supports each of our weights/statures wonderfully even with its flexible, spine-like design. I love that I can work these love handles off with the side-crunch motion… Also, we were able to work not only our abs, but also our back muscles as the Abs Core Bench hyperextends (as shown in the picture above). The bench came with a DVD as well as a written manual which contains women’s workouts, men’s workouts, an 8-week recipe guide, daily meal plans and grocery lists, cardio and strength programs, and a daily calorie guide to aid in transitioning into a healthier lifestyle!

Initially when I ordered the core/ab trainer, I had a total blond moment and used our bank card to complete the order rather than using the code given to me by the rep who facilitated the review. Oops. I was thrilled to find that I didn’t have to make a phone call to customer service or email the PR rep to resolve this issue – in my account on CSN’s website, I simply canceled the order and received immediate confirmation. I placed the order correctly and the initial charge “fell off” of my credit card authorization screen within a few days. The reason I am including this bit of information is simply to let you know that if you happen to change your mind, CSN has a hassle-free cancellation procedure.

I received the ProForm Ab Machine very quickly even using their free standard shipping option they offer on many of the items they carry sitewide. I placed the order late at night on May 13th (Saturday) and received it on May 20th, so basically 5 business days since the order likely wasn’t processed until Monday, the 15th. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with CSN Stores in my current and previous dealings with them… so impressed, in fact, that I actually recommended the website to my best friend the night before last when I learned she was searching online for a new bed.
