The Powermat Wireless Charging Systems allow you to “lose the cords” - a fabulous idea for those of us who detest having to plug and unplug multiple devices each day and untangle all the various cords that are necessary for those devices to work… well were necessary – until now! Powermat offers a universal wireless charger for those of us who routinely need to charge 2-4 devices at a time and an iPhone version for those who would love to be able to just drop-n-charge their beloved iPhones without handling cords.

I received the Powermat Home and Office Wireless Charging System since I don’t have an iPhone (aw, shucks!) and I was surprised to see how many tips are included with the package - the default tip on the Universal Powercube Receiver is a mini USB, but the kit also comes with adapters to fit products by Apple, LG, Samsung, Sony, DS Lite & DSi, and micro USB devices. I can charge my Sanyo phone, my husband’s LG phone, and both of our bluetooth earpieces (Plantronics and Jawbone) with the same micro USB tip. SCORE!

As an added bonus, the Powermat also has a USB port on the back which allows you to charge a fourth device (like my camera). One cord. Endless possibilities. Several devices (such as iPhones and Blackberry phones as well as Nintendo DS and DSi) have universal battery doors which act as a powermat receiver so that none of the tips are even required – can you say NO plugging at all? Awesomeness.
I’ve enjoyed my Powermat Home and Office Wireless Charging System. It is nice to be able to just simply slap the tip in and set it down. Not having to change out the tips is a beautiful thing since all of our devices happen to use the same one. The funny thing is that my charger won’t charge Barry’s phone and his won’t charge mine; the bluetooth chargers won’t charge either of our phones… yet ALL of those devices charge without fail from the same Powercube tip.
Since the Powermat only comes with one Powercube, you’ll have to purchase a second one if you want to be able to charge more than one device at a time. Having one works fine for us since Barry works nights. I charge mine while I’m sleeping at night and he charges his while he’s sleeping during the day; since both our bluetooth earpieces can charge using the micro USB powercube tip or a USB port, each of us can simply plug the USB cord to the back of the Powermat in order to charge our bluetooth earpieces while our phones charge. You can’t get more convenient than that… especially since I no longer need an extension cord in my room now that I’m only using one outlet so I can plug my laptop charger into the wall without a problem!
Pick up the Powermat Wireless Charging System that best fits YOUR needs… and “lose the cords” :)
