A couple of months ago, I reviewed a USB headset designed by Skype’s Everyman brand which is both affordable and practical – two of my absolute favorite things! Since headset was created by Skype, it is obviously a perfect fit for use with Skype’s software which allows you to make calls from your computer to other Skype users and mobile/landline phones as well as from certain mobile phones to other mobile/landline phones and Skype clients without using airtime.
Not only is it comfortable to wear and extremely clear whether you’re making calls, recording audio, listening to music, or gaming online, but this USB has one unique offering most other USB headsets do not have: it converts into a 3.5mm jack for use with mp3 players and many cell phones when you want to listen to music on the go! NOTE: You cannot use the Everyman headset to make calls on your cell phone; the 3.5mm jack activates ONLY the speakers, not the mic.
Another awesome perk – this headset is foldable. That’s right – for all you travelers, no more arriving at your destination to find bits and pieces of your fragmented headset in your carry-on bag! The FREETALK Everyman headset is totally portable, featuring a fold-flat design and a microphone which is completely flexible. I often say that a product that can make it through my house can make it in ANY environment… a claim I make very emphatically. My children are just simply destructive! :) This headset has been in my home for over three months now and is still going strong. Between my four daughters who range in age from almost-two to 10 and my eight year old son, it’s been stepped on, pulled on, sucked on, bent, twisted, abused, and overused – and it has taken the lickin’ and kept on tickin’ … well, it’s not really ticking, but you know what I mean :)
