Over the last decade, I’ve considered trying out for American Idol several times. I’ve been singing since the moment I figured out that sound escaped my lips. As a child, I would walk around making up lyrics and just singing to my heart’s content … my every thought came to me in tunes. Music is my number one passion – that thing that I do without even thinking. It’s second nature. It’s my escape. My release. My outlet. But above all else, it’s my gift. I auditioned for a regional competition to win an all expense paid trip to the actual American Idol back in 2006. You can read about that by clicking here. That’s the closest I’ve ever gotten to a real audition. Kids, work, circumstances – things just never panned out for me until now.

American Idol is bringing their auditions to MY STATE! :) In less than a month, on July 26th, they will be coming to New Orleans and holding the auditions at the Arena which is just 5 hours away from my house. I’ve got all the accommodations arranged for the kids. I’ve got the vehicle. I’ve got the time. It’s all in place. Now, just to come up with the funds. At first my mom said she would cover the cost of the trip because we were thinking it wouldn’t be much, just gas, hotel, and food, right? Wrong. Considering Barry losing 3 days of work, the gas to get there, compensating those caring for the kids (my mom and step dad both have to work each of those days and will be dropping off/picking up my babies from one of my friends each day), an outfit to wear (since, you know, I have no clothes… I’m sure you know that from seeing me wear the same things in my photos all the time LOL) and the hotel room for two nights, I am figuring out that this is actually going to be a pretty expensive trip. Like, a few hundred bucks expensive… man, having dreams with kids gets complicated!

Then my mom and I got to thinking – what if I reach out to my network? Of the approximately 5,000+ connections I have online, if only 2-3% of those people believe in me enough to purchase ONE graphic or contribute 5 bucks, that would cover the entire trip and cut the struggle and worry out of the whole thing. :) Imagine that!

How YOU Can Help

So, here I am… and there are two things I am reaching out to my friends, family, colleagues, associates, subscribers, and followers for… the funds to get there and the song choice to sing when I get there LOL Yep, straight to the point. There are two ways you can help make this happen – by donating a few bucks, or by giving me your business. Order web design services, graphic design services, or blog services from eDesign-Pro Company within the next 26 days and I will be using every penny I earn to put toward this trip. If you want to see me on American Idol but don’t have any use for these types of services, feel free to shoot a little cash my way to help out via PayPal – my email address is kjr{at}iheart7.com! If there is ANYTHING I can do for you in return, don’t hesitate to ask. Well, I mean within reason, of course :)

I appreciate everyone who is praying for me, believing in me, and supporting me. My mom has already agreed to pitch in whatever I’m lacking as she’s as determined as I am to make sure I get there no matter what. This trip could change our entire life… and I know I have what it takes. It’s my life long dream, and essentially my last shot. Since I’m about to be 28, this is my last chance to audition for American Idol. Even if I don’t go all the way, SO many non-winners of American Idol’s competition have benefited greatly from just being there – case in point, Jennifer Hudson! So on to request number two – song choice. I’ve narrowed it down (I think) to the following three songs.
