As you all probably already know, I have had Fibromyalgia for about 18 years now. I blog about it sporadically at For the Love of Chaos. When I was first diagnosed, aside from the doctors that were knowledgeable about my condition (who actually were few in far between) no one seemed to have ever heard of it. I got so tired of explaining what this questionable illness was that I stopped even mentioning it. For years, I barely said anything about it at all. I suffered in silence and learned to just push myself through the pain because providing anyone with the excuse as to why I couldn’t do something would open up the neverending dialog about this disease which seemed to have involuntarily included me in some sort of secret society of pain-ridden people whose problems were all in their head… or so it was thought.
Now, through my social media networks, I’ve become SO much more comfortable discussing what ails me because I’ve realized that instead of such a small group as I had believed most of my life, there is actually an army of individuals with the same symptoms I have. I don’t have to deal with the embarrassment of so many questions because unlike two decades ago, people now have (for the most part) at least HEARD of Fibromyalgia before. I can’t describe how elated I was the first time I saw a commercial about it! When I heard a woman describing how frustrating and disheartening it was for people to tell her that her pain was all in her head, I could TOTALLY relate!! It was a relief to me just to feel I wasn’t quite so alone anymore.
You can imagine how thrilled I was to meet Sue Ingebretson on Twitter. She has dealt with chronic illness for many years and wrote her book, FibroWHYalgia, to not only share her plight toward rebuilding her own wellness but to provide a roadmap for other sufferers who have felt like there was no hope for them to overcome the illnesses that affect their lives daily! Complete with inspirational quotes, humor, wit, and such a strong touch of personality, FibroWHYalgia is a must-read for anyone whose life has been interrupted by chronic illness! Page by page, you gain insight, knowledge, and revelation as light bulbs continuously come on in your mind paragraph by paragraph as you read how Sue’s thirst for knowledge, determination to get answers, and strength she drew from her faith brought her to get control of an illness that had at one point controlled her. I received my book from Sue this morning and have since had a hard time putting it down. I’ve yet to complete it, but I have already been blessed by what I’ve found within it thus far.
I highly recommend that ANYONE who is – or has loved ones who are – suffering from chronic illness and wants a deeper understanding of what is going on make it a point to purchase this book, which retails for $19.99 plus shipping and handling. You will find it on her website at www.RebuildingWellness.com (where you can receive an autographed copy!) and also have the option of purchasing from Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com! In keeping with National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day (May 12) Sue has been so kind as to offer one of my readers an autographed copy absolutely FREE!

Hi Kat,
Out of Sue’s “Top 5 Reasons to Buy”, the one that best describes me is: I “want to better understand the root causes of chronic illness.”
Thank you,
Julie
I can empathize with Sue’s statement: “I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired”.
I would have to say
4) You’re looking for information on how to rebuild your health, and want it in a fun and easy-to-read format.

Boy does that #1 hit it on the head.. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired..
As another FMS survivor, I am getting better but always can use more help. At least i’m off all opiate pain meds and active and doing more and claiming my life back…
I’ve subscribed to Sue’s website. Her writing is informative and enlightening. I recommend every one check her out!
I’m following Sue and Kat on Twitter. Interesting!
Hi, my response to the top 5 best reasons to buy/read sue’s book is: NO: 1…..I’M SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED…..
It’s been bearly 1 year and my doctor and specialists (rheumatologist- which i have given the flick!, and now seeing a neurologist!), are no further in knowing what it is I have, if it is indeed their first diagnosis of fibro but worse than originally thought, or if its fibro and something else, RLS was diagnosed 3 wks ago and I also was diagnosed with Diabetes 2-3 mths ago….I dont sleep well, I’m waiting for a sleep apnea test, am fatigued, mood swings well i needn’t explain those! lol….and I am awaiting a MRI and a nerve conduction test of my legs to see what is going on with them and to try and help explain the pain!!
I am working on getting healthier every day, but of all the top 5 reasons mine would have to be:
1) You’re sick and tired of being sick
and tired.
I’m doing what I can, but I’m not afraid to say “I know I can’t do it all on my own.” :D
There are several reasons I would like to read this book, but #5 is on top of the list. I want a book that will help my daughter and her family deal with this illness.
My reason is “I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired!” Please enter me in this giveaway! I’ve suffered with fibromyalgia for at least 15+ years. It got much worse 7 years ago when my adult daughter passed away and we adopted our granddaughter.
Hi Sue, I am trying to help a friend of mine who has been diagnosed with this disease. It breaks my heart to see her in so much pain. Some days, she is fine, but others she is in tears and gets so depressed. I want to give her hugs and even that hurts her, just breaks my heart.
5) You’re looking for a book to help a friend or loved one deal with chronic illness.
My reason is #1. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I’ve got to say #1 is probably first on most all of our lists. After several years of dealing with this, I know I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired!! I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis about 8 years ago but was recently diagnosed with sjogrens syndrome also. In the last 8 years I have been on many different medications and tried physical therapy, massage, tens unit, pain management among other things. I recently went to a doctor in California that specializes in autoimmune diseases that has helped alot. She has me on a strict diet of no sugars, no dairy, no carbs, and more. She has me taking a protein shake along with some supplements and my mood has been much better. Depression was a real big issue with me.
I am so happy to have found this site. My daughter found it and suggested I check it out. So happy I did. Hopefully all of us together can help each other. I am very interested in reading this book! Information is so important to fight any illness.
#1 I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. And a little humor will help, too.

I am looking for more information to help a friend with her fibromyalgia. The book sounds very practical as well as humorous.
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia over 26 years ago when it was never heard of. Frankly, it had made my life hell! I am also a heart patient so many years ago when I would complain of chest pain it was always put down as being my fibromyalgia. Well, turned out it wasn’t and at the youngish age of 36 I underwent an emergency triple heart bypass. I was a stay at home wife and mom for 21 years but 10 years ago i got “sick and tired of being sick and tired” (my reason for wanting to win the copy of Sue’s book) so returned to the work force. Well, last week I had to retire early due to health reasons. Chronic illness really sucks and I would love to learn how to get over being “sick and tired of being sick and tired” all the time!!! Thanks!
I have had Fibromyalgia since 1990, but was not diagnosed until 1995. After 5 longs years of guessing and searching and wondering and worrying…my illness finally had a name. Since then I have been struggling to find ways to fight this battle.
Since this is a life-long struggle, my #1 Reason for wanting this book is: I am looking for a way to rebuild my health and I want it to be in a fun and easy-to-read format.
After so many years of fighting pain, day after day after day…anything new and innovative; fresh ideas; broad horizons…I’m open to any suggestions that would help me find new ways to fight this disease….
God Bless all of my fellow Fibro-sufferers….

HI THERE
my number one reason for wanting to win book is “im sick and tired of being sick and tired.
i also entered evy othr way u provided above.
thx!
I think #1 is my reason. I’ve had fibromyalgia since the late 80s (when I was in my teens), complicated by the hard onset of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome nearly 20 years ago. I was recently part of a groundbreaking medical research study finding the retorvirus XMRV (same family as HIV) in the vast majority of CFS patients tested. While this is groundbreaking research and still an unfolding story, I personally believe this has been at the root of my health struggles since childhood and have been blogging my journey as well. Exciting to hear of another Christian woman who is addressing the topic of chronic pain/illness.
