Girly Gazette, Challenge 1: What Makes YOU Feel Fabulous?

Posted by on Mar 1, 2010 in Memes | 2 comments | 239 views

The challenge  for Monday, March 1, 2010 from the Girly Gazette was to make a list of things (both minor and major) that make you feel fabulous. They can be physical, mental, or emotional.

I am LATE, LATE, LATE publishing this challenge but I didn’t want to miss out on it. As someone who is habitually anti-punctual, my motto is BETTER LATE THAN NEVER and I am adopting that attitude here. For the rest of the week (including Today’s challenge) I will be on time and in full participation!

PHYSICALLY FABULOUS

  1. Manicure. I love doing my nails and keeping them done. That doesn’t happen (the KEEPING them done part) very often, but I love to do them and always feel so much more  feminine when my hands look nice!
  2. Being active. Even though I may not LOOK different immediately, even the slightest physical activity makes me feel fabulous. I feel like I’ve done something positive for ME and that is an awesome feeling.
  3. Getting dressed up. Even if I’m not leaving the house, just getting dressed nicely, doing my hair and makeup, and looking good for nothing in particular makes me feel so much more capable of anything than when I am lounging in sweats.

MENTALLY FABULOUS

  1. Praying. Communion with God is SO important to my state of mind. When I begin to slack off in this area, every area of my life suffers.
  2. Having a nice conversation. I love people… interacting with others, even engaging in random chatter, always helps me clear my mind and refreshes me.
  3. Taking a nap. Simple as it sounds, getting extra rest is something I don’t do often. When I can take a couple of hours out of my day and just SLEEP, it makes a whole world of difference!

EMOTIONALLY FABULOUS

  1. Hearing, “I love you.” Whether it is from a friend, my husband, my kids, or my family… those are three words that always brighten my spirit and make me feel terrific!
  2. Being appreciated. When someone shows that they value your presence in their lives, your place in their company, or your contribution to their project it it an amazing feeling.
  3. Encouraging myself. Sometimes there is nothing anyone can tell me that makes a difference in my little world, but telling MYSELF positive things is SO empowering. It makes me feel in control.
Until next time...

    I love this :)

Those are ALL fabulous! A lot of us really don’t take the time to do nice things for ourselves.
