Tonight, I found out that a few hours ago one of my really good friends from college and her son were in a bad car accident. I haven’t received any word about Charmayne, but her son, Cinsere, was on life support the last I heard… he’s only four. Charmayne is such a sweetie. I went to college with her and her son’s father, Carlos. She used to very craftily do my hair for every football game. We were always together between classes, playing spades in the dorm lobby… Charmayne and Carlos were at our apartment like every day when they started dating. By the time Cinsere was born, Barry and I had already moved to Louisiana but I still feel close to him because we were all so close to each other. Barry and Carlos played football together. Sorry, I’m probably rambling. I’m not really as articulate in situations like this as I normally would be. :(

Carlos lives in Georgia and is trying to get to Mississippi to be with his son, especially since his mother is unable to be with him. She is at a hospital over an hour away from the one Cinsere was taken to. I just ask that everyone pray for them, especially for little CC because from what I’ve heard he’s not doing very well but I know that GOD IS ABLE!!! If you want to join the prayer chain for Charmayne and her son as well as for the rest of their family please let me know by linking up below. If you’re not a blogger, link to your Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter page. Thanks. God bless you!

Father God, I ask that You touch Charmayne and Cinsere with your healing hand and that You restore their bodies. Lord, I ask that you comfort their families as they deal with uncertainty. Father God, I know that You are able and that there is no situation bigger than You are. I thank You in the name of Jesus for turning this situation around and for bringing them both out of the fire without damage Lord because You are the God of miracles! I praise Your name, Lord God, for touching little CC and healing him in the name of Jesus… for touching Charmayne and healing her in the name of Jesus. Father God I thank You right now as I stand in faith that all is well with them both in Jesus’ preciously perfect name. Amen!!!

UPDATE {12/14/09: 6:23PM CST}

Cinsere has come out of surgery and is responsive!!! It hasn’t even been 24 hours since the crash … and he’s already improving! Both cheekbones are shattered, lungs were punctured in the crash, and his skull was cracked. I don’t know the extent of all of his injuries, but those were the main concerns when I spoke with his mother a few minutes ago. She is of course in a great deal of pain, but is focused on her baby. The doctors were able to repair his skull in surgery to close it back up and he is still on life support but ONLY to let his lungs rest because of all the bruising. PRAYER IS SO POWERFUL! Last night, the doctors weren’t convinced he would make it to his 5th birthday Wednesday… now, the prognosis is AMAZING. It’s not going to be a short or easy road, but he’s going to be fine. His mother, Charmayne, has a fractured arm, a broken collarbone, a broken bone in her back, and a broken jaw. She also has a good deal of glass embedded into her facial skin. KEEP PRAYING as mom and son continue in their road to recovery. God has TRULY put His healing hands on BOTH of them and has already begun to restore their bodies! HALLELUJAH!!!
