My heart literally hurts just thinking about this. A 23-year-old mother of 3 leaves her two youngest sons, ages 2 and 3, home alone while she goes shopping with an aunt. An hour later, she gets a call that her duplex is on fire with her children inside. The oldest boy dies; the youngest, in critical condition. Her five year old son was in school at the time. The mother is being detained for questioning – the aunt, in media interviews, says, “I need to see if my purse got burnt up… my food stamps and everything were in there.”

I’m not going to ramble – the video speaks volumes all on its own. My heart is broken :( I have asked myself TOO many times lately why parents do not protect their children anymore. So many cases of horrible parenting habits lately. This is horrific. My mind can’t even take imagining how terrified these two little boys were…
My hope is that this mother faces charges. As far as I am concerned, the blood of her son is on her own hands and if she gets away with this, this case will be the epitome of everything that is wrong with our judicial system.
I agree with you that there seems to be way to many injuries and deaths of our babies lately… when did we as parents decide to get so complacent? I am almost violently ill with the news of these sweet children…

Lord forgive me but I want to punch auntie in the FACE right now!! She is more worried about her purse and foodstamps then the lives of two innocent children. This is so sad….and makes me sick!
My children are 8 and 9 and I won’t even leave them with a sitter, when they go out to play I open all the blinds and tell them not to go out of my line of vision. Am I overprotective, you bet…but my children are alive, haven’t been molested or raped and are safe!!!
What kind of mental person leaves a 2 and 3 year old alone in the house??? EVEN FOR A FEW MINUTES!!! I’m sad, I’m MAD!
The aunt made me sick! Really…hearltess…I know I’m wrong for this so noone needs to tell me…lol but if I heard her say that I prolly woulda knocked the rest of those teeth out her mouth!
