Talia Jonet’ Robertson was born at 1:23am – she is 19 inches and weighs 7 pounds 10.4 ounces.  She was born at 38.1 weeks!  Her APGARs were 9 & 10.  She is so tiny!  She looks like Briyana but is very hairy like Tre was! I believe she is going to be darker than Briyana was.  She already has a good bit of color!  Here is her birth story:

I was due to give birth to our third child, a girl, on January 3, 2003. We arrived at the hospital around 2:00 pm on December 20, 2002. I was having some small contractions and was VERY ready to be in labor, even though it was 2 weeks early!!! We waited around until the doctor came in and checked me only to tell us I was only 2 cm dilated and she sent me to walk. I walked for an hour while Barry drove 35 miles to Poplarville to pick up the kids and then 20 miles to take them to my sister, Kelly, then 30 miles back to the hospital. By the time he got back, I had been sent to walk twice and was back in the room waiting to be told whether I was in labor, or was going home. Good news came a few minutes later: Since I was already dilated and having some mild contractions, we could wait and see if I would go into labor on my own, or I could be induced. We thought for a little while and decided WE WERE HAVING A BABY!!!

Dr. Kot transferred me from the Pre-Admit room to the labor and delivery room around 5:30pm, where I stayed pretty comfortably until they broke my water around 7:00 pm. My contractions started very mild, but got extremely intense after they introduced my IV to PITOCIN!!! I was in pain, to say the least. It took a while for them to get the epidural right, but eventually, I was pain free for the most part. Barry caught up on some sleep and I rested while I dilated. He had to start a new job the next morning!!! The night was pretty uneventful, besides experiencing a little discomfort and worrying Barry to death!! Finally, the nurse came in around 12:55am and checked to see how far dilated I was… I was only 7 cm. Only 25 minutes later, Dr. Kot came in and discovered that I had dilated to 10 cm!!!!!!!! It was time for us to have our baby. Barry got up and got the camera, but before he could even turn it on, she was here. TALIA JONET’ ROBERTSON was born December 21, 2002 weighing 7 pounds, 10.4 ounces at 19 inches long! She was perfect!! Barry held her first since he had to go back home – he had to be at work at 5am. He gave her to me so that I could try to feed her and then they took our new daughter to the nursery to make sure she was as healthy as she seemed to be. I went to sleep (I was COMPLETELY exhausted!) and Barry went home to get some rest as well.

Until next time...
