Maya went to her first birthday party today – Lil Calvin’s – at Tena’s house. She went swimming with all the other little kids … okay so she wasn’t really swimming but she was in the pool. Kinda. Okay, so I held her. But still. LOL
She was SO good and she played and smiled and had SUCH a good time. She will be 6 months old tomorrow! MAN, time flies. She has changed, grown, blah blah blah so much in such a short time. It’s amazing. She loves looking in the mirror at herself! She plays with me by holding my hands and “jumping” up and down… she pulls herself to a standing position on EVERYTHING – the wall, the headboard, the coffee table, my LEG, etc… she can stand up by herself with limited support for balance! She will let go and stand for like half a second then fall on her butt.
She feeds herself little finger foods like potatoes or little pieces of bread from a sandwich. What else? Hmmm… OH she LOVES to play peek-a-boo! She laughs SOOOO hard. She’s gotten to where she sticks her tongue out at people, which is oh so precious. She has also developed quite a strong interest in banging objects which is just as sweet as it is loud – and sometimes annoying!

Instead of putting together a whole different entry for this, I thought I would come back and add it here… she had her 6-month checkup today. She was 16 pounds, 12 ounces at 26.5 inches long. Her big ole head is 43.5 centimeters in circumference! She is now saying DADA, giving kissing and hugs, and is actually exploring/examining things by TOUCHING them instead of tasting them (lol) Ok, ok… so she still tastes occasionally, but we’re moving in the right direction!
